Here’s a simple video we did that shows our Comiqs online comic creator in action:
Looks easy and simple to use, doesn’t it? ![]()

Yeah, looks a lot like Comic Life on the Mac — in fact, it looks *too much* like Comic Life.

Dan, thanks for the feedback! We appreciate your comment, our very first blog comment!
Comic Life is a good piece of software without a doubt. But I disagree with the comparison in the UI.
Our team did up a couple of iterations and brainstorming in our UI implementation to arrive at what we have. But other than the fact that both does comic, we’re very different. Comiqs is both a web-based comic creator tool and an online publishing platform, while Comic Life is a desktop application.
Watch this space, this is only the beginning, we have more coming up.

Dan, thanks for your observation. For the moment, you can consider Comiqs the tool for online comic creation! It’s free and we want to benefit the internet masses instead of just an exclusive community of users. And we assure you that our story will not just end here. Please stay tune for a lot more innovations to come!

Hi there,
Comiqs is a really great idea, gratz for that
I had a small question:
Is it possible to make a “private” comic?
I mean, I would like to make one for the a birthday, but viewvable only by people I choosed.

Ho, and something else:
I personnaly use Picasa to store my pics online (and not flickr).
Do you plan for the future to make able to use also picaweb?
And what about to open a forum :p

I was excited about your service but was disappointed to see how easily inappropriate and copyrighted material can be published/found on this service. What do you have in place to avoid the violations of your Terms of Use? Is there any way to flag inappropriate content?

@Guiwald,
Hi there, welcome to Comiqs!
- Privacy feature will be coming right up
- PicasaWeb: We’ll add that it in a future release
- Forum: Maybe, we’ll consider that
@Jeff,
Hi, yes, this is an important issue, so we’ll add the flag feature, to allow our users to help us flag inappropriate content.

Thanks for this feedback, and I’m happy to see the feature I’d like are already planed!
I thought about a forum to make easy for the users to speak about there wish, to improve your great site. Instead just write in some blogs billets, we could so create topics for that.
See you!

Hi Mike and Jeff,
You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work. I’ve utilized your program in my blog site. My job for now is to spread the good word on Comiqs, lol. As far as copyrighted materials being used on comiqs, I think you are safe in the “fair use in trademark law”. Your lawyers can expound more on that. But for now, you won’t believe how you make my readers smile. Kudos…

Why is your video out of focus?

This looks really cool -I’m going to write a blog post about it. I can see lots of uses in education for this, but you would need the privacy feature operable due to problems with students uploading images of themselves and the parent community not being happy with pictures of their child available in a public forum. When do you think this feature will be available.
March 20th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
Sorry - just read your cool new features post - privacy is available - defintely worth it now for education.
